Youtheatre’s mission is to set the highest standard of entertainment for children, to teach lifelong values and ideals, to stimulate creative imagination and dramatic ability, to instill confidence, self- belief and a strong self-image in children, to broaden intra-cultural understanding and to develop interest in and appreciation of the arts.
The Fort Wayne Youtheatre is recognized as one of the oldest children’s theatre in the nation. We work with children, ages 3-18, in multiple levels of theatre, dance, voice, comedy, stagecraft, radio and public speaking. As one of the few theatres that is not only for children but by children, Youtheatre also teaches practical vocational and technical stage skills. We lead winter camps, summer camps, Arts in Education workshops, free after school drama clubs throughout the community, class scholarships, free and reduced student tickets, internships and no cost theatre through our busy traveling tours. Youtheatre has been honored by Youth Digest, Arts United Arts in Education Awards, Indiana Theatre Achievement Award and the American Theatre Association.
