Miracle League of Chattanooga 3.88

There will be a new baseball league coming to Chattanooga this fall. The Miracle League of Chattanooga will give individuals with limited abilities a specialized recreational opportunity, designed to accommodate their needs.Each Miracle Field is uniquely built with a special latex-free, rubberized surface that is completely flat and has no barriers. The multi-purpose field will allow children and adults to play a variety of sports and Special Olympic activities. Construction plans include accessible restrooms from the dugouts, shade and picnic pavilions, and several other accomodations.

Not just for children, the Miracle League is designed for anyone who uses a wheelchair, cane, walker, crutches, or has prosthetic limbs, including seniors, veterans, Wounded Warriors, and individuals participating in the Special Olympics. YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga will operate the Miracle League as a component of their sports programming.

Every Player will get a team jersey and hat!

Games will be Saturday Mornings and each Game is Two Innings where:

o -Players can choose between coach pitch and hitting off a tee

o -Every player gets to bat once each inning

o -Every batter is safe

o -Every player rounds the bases and scores

o -The last Player on the lineup gets a home run

Helmets and bats will be provided. Players are encouraged to bring their own glove. No cleats please. Every Player will get a team jersey and hat!

Every player has an able bodied volunteer, “Buddy” who helps them play and cheers them on!
