Details

St. Vincent de Paul Middletown has more than a 36-year history of meeting needs and offering hope. A community ministry of the Diocese of Norwich by Sisters of Mercy Pat McKeon and Caroline Beaudoin, St. Vincent De Paul was “the place” on Main Street in Middletown where people in need could come for a meal, groceries, clothing, shelter and financial assistance.

The core ministries --Soup Kitchen, opened in 1980, Amazing Grace Food Pantry since 2002, Community Assistance since 1999 and Supportive Housing since 1996--have remained the same over the years and are the essence of what we do. We serve over 86,500 nutritious meals each year through our community Soup Kitchen. We also connect hundreds of people to basic support services and emergency funds through our Community Assistance Program, by collaborating with many community partners. Our Amazing Grace Food Pantry is currently feeding more than 970 families per month and our Supportive Housing Program allows 79 formerly, chronically homeless individuals with disabilities and addiction to live successfully in their own apartments.
